Vice and Call of Duty Present ‘Superpower For Hire: Rise of the Private Military’ Documentary

In collaboration with Call of Duty, Vice is taking a look at the history behind the rise of Private Military Corporations and their current activities around the globe today in a recently released short documentary.

In addition to acting as an informative piece on the subject, the documentary also serves as a set up to Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare where PMCs play a significant role in the game’s setting and story.

You can watch it above.

“Vice takes an unprecedented look into the shadowy industry of Private Military Companies. For the past two decades these private companies, like Black Water, Aegis and G4S have silently consumed military operations around the world, doing everything from back end logistics, protection of government VIP’s and diplomats to actual combat duties. In this documentary we explore the origins of this industry, their rise in the war on terror and their future operations around the world.”

We’ll get to learn much more about the rise of PMCs in Advanced Warfare’s fictional near-future universe when it launches November 4 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Advanced Warfare multiplayer will be playable at Gamescom this August 13-18. Keep your sights on MP1st for details!
