Max Payne 1 and 2 Remake, and Control 2 Development Advancing in Q2 2024

In their recent business review for January to March 2024, developer Remedy Games shed some light on what they’re working on next and those titles’ current statuses. Among the games listed, the Max Payne 1 and 2 remake and Control 2 both received updates that have us looking forward to their futures.

In a note from CEO Tero Virtala, Remedy outlined the current status of several of their in-development products. According to Virtala, the Max Payne 1 and 2 remake, which is currently in the production readiness stage, is expected to reach the full production stage during the second quarter of 2024.

Additionally, Control 2, the highly anticipated sequel to one of 2019’s best games, is also moving forward in development. Previously in the proof-of-concept stage, the game is expected to advance to the production readiness stage in Q2 2024 as well. Codename Condor, another project in the Control universe, was also confirmed to have entered full production during the beginning of the year.

Remedy’s been on a roll in the last several years, and it looks like they’re not planning to stop any time soon. They’ve built a very dedicated fanbase, and we hope to see them continue to release really special games. It sounds like they’re in good shape for the next few years, especially now that they own the Control franchise outright.
