Elden Ring in Final Stages of Development According to FromSoftware Dev

Elden Ring Final Stages

In a recent interview with Famitsu, FromSoftware’s Yasuhiro Kitao briefly discussed the upcoming game Elden Ring, and when asked about the status of the game’s development, he said, “We’re in the final stages of development, and we’re moving forward quietly.”

When asked what kind of game Elden Ring is, here’s what he had to say:

“It’s a culmination of FromSoftware’s expertise in dark fantasy action. You can enjoy the high level of difficulty and the sense of accomplishment of overcoming it, the joy of discovering the unknown, and the creation of the world setting.”

FromSoftware is known for the high level of difficulty of their games, and it seems Elden Ring is not that different, according to Kitao:

“It’s easy. (laughs), but we want players to feel a sense of accomplishment, and one of the ways to achieve this is to set a high difficulty level. One of the ways to achieve this is to set the difficulty to a high level, so there is a definite sense of accomplishment in this game. And there are systems in place to help you experience that sense of accomplishment. For example, when there are a lot of enemies, you can summon a spirit to fight with you as your companion.”

Lastly, here’s a message to the fans waiting for the game’s release:

“We released the video and release date in June 2021, after two years of no new information since we released the video at E3 2019. I thought it would be forgotten until then, but there were many people waiting for it, and I want to say thank you again to them. We will continue to develop the game to meet your expectations, so please look forward to it.

I’m sure we’ll be able to meet your expectations.”

Elden Ring will launch for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 21, 2022.
