A bit of unfortunate news for fans of Telltale Games’ The Wolf Among Us sequel has just been released. The Wolf Among Us 2 is delayed to 2024, with the goal of giving enough time to developers so that they shouldn’t feel burnout or have to deal with crunch time.

Telltale Games posted an official statement via the studio’s Twitter account.

The company also spoke with IGN to give more information regarding the decision. CEO Jamie Ottilie stated that it wouldn’t do for the studio to release the game in an unfinished state. “Making games is difficult and they need time to be right. And it doesn’t do any of us any good to ship something that’s not ready,” he claims.
Ottilie also goes on to state that during development, Telltale Games decided to make the switch from Unreal Engine 4 to 5 due to various features that interested the team, but this resulted in “quite a bit of work” that resulted in the aforementioned delay.
While The Wolf Among Us 2 won’t be dropping this year, the studio is dropping one title later in 2023. Titled “The Expanse: A Telltale Series,” a trailer for this sci-fi game just released a couple of weeks ago, and you can check out the gameplay trailer here.
