Destiny 2 Down for Server Maintenance as Update 8.2.6 Is Set to Be Released

Another patch is headed to guardians later today, but before that happens, Bungie has to take the Destiny 2 servers down temporarily for a few hours.

Once they are up, update version 8.2.6 will be available for download on all platforms, ushering in new fixes and improvements once again.

Yes, Destiny 2 is down, as you can see that evil character warningly waving their hands at you. Check out the full schedule below straight from Bungie.

Tuesday, May 6, 2025 — Update 8.2.6

7:00 AM PDT -7 UTC
    • Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance.
    • Sign-on and game integration features will be unavailable on web, mobile, third-party apps, and the Bungie Store.
    • Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.
8:35 AM PDT -7 UTC
    • Destiny 2 and all APIs will be brought offline for expected maintenance.
    • Players will be removed from activities.
    • Destiny 1 may be impacted.
10:00 AM PDT -7 UTC
    • The latest Destiny 2 update will be available across all platforms and regions.
    • Players will be able to log back into Destiny 2.
    • Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
    • The Destiny 2 API will be brought online.
    • Clan features may remain offline until maintenance is complete.
12:00 PM PDT -7 UTC
    • Destiny 2 maintenance is expected to conclude.
    • Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update.
    • Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.

Once the patch is out, expect it up here on MP1st. While the downtime has a schedule noted, there are instances where it’s down longer than the intended timeframe. If that happens, expect this article to be updated.
