The Wolf Among Us Remastered Side-by-Side Comparison; Sequel Set for Release in 2027
A few months ago, we reported that a The Wolf Among Us port for current-gen platforms was in the works. As it turned out, one of the highlights of this year’s Summer Game Fest was the return of the franchise in all its glory.
Telltale Games took the stage to drop a brand-new trailer for the long-awaited sequel, The Wolf Among Us 2, and closed the presentation by confirming a full remaster for the original title. While the sequel is officially scheduled for a 2027 release window, the remaster is aiming much closer, targeting a launch during this year’s holiday season.
Bigby Returns to Fabletown With a Sequel and Remaster
The newly revealed trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2 gives us a look at the dark future of Fabletown, continuing the story of Sheriff Bigby Wolf just six months after the events of the first game. Working again with Snow White, Bigby must solve the mystery surrounding a dangerous new criminal underworld conspiracy.
This announcement is certainly a reassuring sign for fans who have been following the title’s development up close. After enduring multiple delays, studio layoffs, and rumors of a second development reboot, the game showing itself again with a new 2027 target gives the community hope that this will finally be the one that makes it to launch.
On the other side of the presentation, brand-new screenshots for the enhanced version of the first title showcase higher-resolution textures and, in some cases, even reworked cinematic framing. These visual upgrades are confirmed to arrive alongside a suite of new features, including updated animations and an overhauled visual presentation.

It was also confirmed that this re-release will include dedicated bonus features, boasting over an hour of cast interviews, developer galleries, and previously deleted cut content that never made it into the 2013 release.
Both The Wolf Among Us Remastered and The Wolf Among Us 2 are confirmed to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 1|2, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
