A new Baldur’s Gate 3 trailer has been released, with this one featuring actress Maggie Robertson as Orin the Red, a shapeshifting villain. The actress shared her thoughts on the character in the brief video, which also featured cutscenes from the game.

You can watch the video here:

Here’s what Robertson had to say about her portrayal of Orin as a villain:

Orin is, affectionately, unhinged. ou don’t know when she’s going to pop up, you don’t know in what form she’s going to be, she’s incredibly tricksy, and uses all of her wiles to get what she wants. One of the physical aspects that I really wanted to integrate with Orin was her relationship with her blades, her weapons. She has a very intimate relationship with them, they feel real and personified to her.

Robertson also commented on the opportunity of acting alongside J.K. Simmons and Jason Isaacs, who also star in Baldur’s Gate 3:

To be considered even in the same realm, much less share scenes with J.K. Simmons and Jason Isaacs… was such an honour, and it was so inspiring and exciting to see their work in this game and experience how our characters come together in the scenes we share to create this unholy, evil triumvirate.

Maggie Robertson is no stranger to video game villain portrayals. Her most notable work of late is as Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, and some may even remember her voice from God of War Ragnarok as Skjóthendi the Unerring, an optional boss.

Baldur’s Gate 3 launches this August 3 on PC, with a PS5 version to follow on September 6.
