It seems the Helldivers 2 servers are acting up again, and thankfully, Arrowhead Game Studios is aware of what’s happening. Yes, Helldivers 2 is down again this Feb. 17 with the studio citing the databases being overloaded as the main cause.

Helldivers 2 Down Status for Feb. 17:

Update #3 (Feb. 17, 10:30 pm EST/7:30 pm PST): Another update from Arrowhead, though not a good one as there’s still issues they’re trying to work out.

“Earlier tonight we had server related issues with a concurrent player spike. This lead to some mission payouts failing, some players being kicked to their ships, or being logged out. Our team is working around the clock to solve these issues. While we’ve been able to mitigate some of the causes, we are still struggling to keep up with the scaling that is needed to accommodate all our Helldivers. Therefore we’ve had to cap our concurrent players to around 450,000 to further improve server stability. We will continue to work with our partners to get the ceiling raised. If you have progression related issues, please restart the game in order for things to sync back up. Thank you for your continued patience.”

Update #2 (Feb. 17, 4:30 pm EST/1:30 pm PST): Arrowhead has released another statement, saying they are still working on the issues.

“Despite our best efforts to increase server capacity to accommodate all of you who want to dive for Freedom, we are experiencing capacity issues. We are once more working without delay to improve the issue and we hope to have a fix in place as soon as possible. Thank you, Arrowhead Dev team”

Update (Feb. 17, 3:09 pm EST/12:09 pm PST): While Arrowhead did release a new patch to help fix matchmaking, stability and even gameplay, it seems the servers are having issues once again right now, as multiple gamers have reported on servers being down, or not seeing anyone on their server.

“Hi @everyone. Another update from the developers: “One of our databases found itself overloaded again tonight. We’ve implemented a partial mitigation which we think will start to improve the situation as the database catches up. We’re also calling in more developers to take a look and see what we can do to keep things running smoothly Saturday. Thank you all for your patience and support!”

This downtime comes at a bad time, as Arrowhead Game Studios has triggered a 50% XP and Requisitions multiplier as compensation for the on-going rewards issues. Chances are, we should be getting another game update soon, even if we’ve already gotten one yesterday.
