Crash Team Rumble Content Support Ending in March; Battle Pass to Become Free

With the announcement of Toys for Bob going independent, effectively breaking away from Activision and Microsoft, it seems that support for Crash Team Rumble is also being killed off as an in-game announcement confirmed its final content drop is set to release in a few short days.

Those who still play Crash Team Rumble may have noticed a new content update message showing up shortly after Toys for Bob’s announcement about going independent, which confirmed that support for the title, in terms of new content, is ending next week. The content update reads as follows:

“March 4, 2024 will be the final content update for Crash Team Rumble.

The core game will still be live and players will have access to a free 500-tier battle pass that includes 104 new items. This will include all of the Battlepass content from Seasons 1 through 3, plus all the available event rewards.

Additionally, Crash Coin purchases will be turned off, and players can use their existing Crash Coins to purchase tier skips for the Battlepass.”

As noted, the game will still be playable, but it will no longer be receiving any new content. All monetization is also being turned off, with the battle pass being free for everyone.

We can’t say we’re surprised, considering that Toys for Bob was in charge of the title, though it does seem odd that no other studio at Activision and Microsoft would pick it up. It could very well be possible that the title just doesn’t have enough players to warrant the continued support, but at the least, it’s great seeing that it’ll be playable and with everything available for free.

The final content update for Crash Team Rumble launches on March 4, 2024.

Game was DOA anyways. I think people played it for a few hours and got bored. Why not just remake Crash Bash? Why make a crappy MOBA?
