007 First Light Gameplay Incoming During This Week’s PlayStation State of Play
A new PlayStation State of Play has just been announced for this week, and it’s entirely focused on IO Interactive’s new upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light.
The showcase will be 30 minutes long and feature new details on the action game based on the super spy, including its first real look at gameplay.
A Dedicated State of Play Announced for 007 First Light
As announced on the PlayStaion Blog, IO Interactive’s 007 First Light is getting a State of Play showcase this Wednesday.
“In this upcoming State of Play, tune in for over 30 minutes of gameplay featuring a playthrough of Bond’s first mission as an MI6 recruit.” Yann Roskell, the Senior Global Communication Manager of IO Interactive, said on the PS Blog, ” The action includes everything from high-speed car chases to on-foot stealth sequences and shootouts. Stay tuned after the playthrough for insights from IO Interactive on the intense espionage gameplay.”
I’m not sure what to expect, but as a fan of both the James Bond IP and IO Interactive’s Hitman games, I’m eager to see this in action. I’m hoping we get something that manages to capture the spirit of the Bond films and novels, while also giving us a bit of freedom that the Hitman games have delivered.
IO Interactive working on the James Bond IP is perhaps a match made in heaven, and fingers crossed, they’re able to do the IP justice! SO be sure to tune in on the official PlayStation Twitch or YouTube channels on September 3 at 11am PT / 7pm BST / 8pm CEST.
In the meantime, for those looking to scratch that James Bond itch, Hitman World of Assassination (aka Hitman 3) has brought back Mads Mikkelsen’s character, Le Chiffre, the villain of the James Bond film, Casino Royale! He’ll be available in the game as an elusive target until September 14, and players who manage to complete the mission will earn an exclusive Casino Suit for 007 First Light when it launches next year.
