A Plague’s Tale: Requiem Is the “End,” but the “Door Is Never Closed” Says Asobo

A Plague Tale Sequel

In a new interview on the PlayStation Blog, A Plague Tale: Requiem Game Director Kevin Choteau confirmed that the studio currently has no plans for a sequel or a spin-off, but also suggests that it isn’t completely off the table.

When asked if A Plague Tale: Requiem  was just another chapter or the final chapter in the Plague Tale series, Choteau replied “I think, for now, it’s the end.” However, the Game Director doesn’t rule out the possibility of there being an addition to the franchise, saying it depends mostly on players’ reception. He says, “But the door is never closed… We want to see their (fans) reaction before deciding anything. They are driving our production, and if they don’t like what we’ve done, we need to do something else.”

Kevin also talks about how proud he is of the team over at Asobo Studio and that he hopes the fans aren’t disappointed with the title, he says “I hope we won’t disappoint them (the fans) and give them the sequel they wanted and deserve.”

You can check out the full interview over at the PS Blog. A Plague Tale: Requiem launches tomorrow, October 18 for Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. Our review of the game gives it an outstanding 9/10, and adds, “whether you played the original or not, you owe it to yourself to check out A Plague Tale: Requiem during this spooky season, and beyond.”
