Ace Combat 8: Wings of the Theve is releasing this year, and while details are still under wraps, it seems two surprise announcements for the game have just leaked.

If Ace Combat 8 is going to have a similar launch as Ace Combat 7, then that might mean that it’s getting a free Ace Combat game as one of its pre-order bonuses.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War PC Port May Be on the Way

As spotted by X account Ace Combat Wiki, Ace Combat 8’s Steam page has received several updates to its database. According to its history update on SteamDB, a reference for Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War has been added, a game that has not officially released on PC.

That’s not the only thing the SteamDB history update has revealed, either, as there are several references to “Ace Combat Online” with a “CNT” tag. For those wondering, “CNT” stands for “Closed Network Test,” which may suggest we may be getting a playtest of sorts before release. Of course, this could be internal testing on the development side, so take this with a grain of salt.

As for Ace Combat Zero, we’re not surprised, given that Ace Combat 7 did include Ace Combat 5 as one of its pre-order bonuses before it released. We can see Bandai doing something similar, though, like the closed network test, also take that bit of news with a grain of salt. At the very least, it is promising to see the game being mentioned on a PC client.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of the Theve is set to release sometime this year on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
