The native Apex Legends PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions have been rated by PEGI, the European ratings board, alongside a tentative release date for both versions. With the game’s Defiance update is also coming out today, new-gen players will be happy to know that Apex Legends for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles are well on their way.

Advice for consumers
This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features sustained depictions of violence towards human characters and moderate violence. Not appropriate for persons below 16 years of age.
Brief outline of the game
Apex is cooperative shooter and battle royale-style online game. Users can form-up into small squads consisting of up to 3 players. Matches are capped at 60-players. Players on the same squad work together to defeat the other squads.
Content specific issues
Players can use a range of modern military weapons such as pistols, sniper rifles, automatic guns, frag grenades and knives. Successful hits from a firearm will degrade the health a character over time and is indicated by some splattering of blood and a reduction in the characters health gauge. Once this reaches a critical point, they will become immobile and eventually die and respawn or are revived by a team mate. Finisher cut scenes provide the best examples of realistic looking violence, although powerful looking the effects are not classed as very strong violence.
Other issues
This game offers in-game items which may be purchased by the player using real-world money.
What’s even more intriguing is the proposed release date of the native versions, with Apex Legends on PS5 and XSX supposed to come today, February 8, 2022. Respawn Entertainment or EA have not made any announcements with regards to this one, so stay tuned if these versions are indeed coming out today.
