With how rampant datamining is these days, developers need to be a step ahead if they want to keep things under wraps before they’re officially revealed. That’s exactly what ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios is doing with the recently concluded Technical Test for the extraction shooter.

With ARC Raider’ Technical Test coming to a close, Embark isn’t just leaving the game files out for everyone to dig around, the studio pushed an update that just blipped the game’s files.

ARC Raiders Technical Test Client Can’t Be Datamined

The ARC Raiders Technical Test got an update today, which didn’t add anything new, but rather, it deleted all the pertinent files to stop people from dataming it. Twitter/X user Scrappy posted the image above confirming the removal of a lot of game files from the client.

Not only that, but the folks at Embark even left an .exe (executable) file that when people run, will show this screen:

The string at the top translates to 2025/xx/yy in base64. While there’s no release date leak, this confirms the game is due for release this year.

While this most likely won’t stop people from datamining the game, it’s a good start. If it works, perhaps other developers will follow suit? Though one can argue that datamining benefits the game rather than harm it, since it does help build hype. Of course, it can also work the other way.

Speaking of datamining, Black Ops 6’s Season 3 Reloaded was datamined, and its game files mention the return of wallrunning, which can even be activated in Black Ops 6.
