ARC Raiders Gameplay Reveal Gives Us First Look at New Extraction Direction
First announced as a cooperative third-person shooter, Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders has undergone quite some changes over the years. The most notable is that it has moved away from being strictly a coop shooter to now being an extraction shooter that pits groups of raiders against one another as they scavage for resources in a massive city. Though Embark has had a tight lid on the title over the last year, that all changed today, as the studio finally gave a true look at ARC Raiders gameplay with snippets of raw footage captured from a recent tech test.
ARC Raiders Gameplay Shows Off Gorgeous Visuals and Some Rather Tense Moments
As captured from a recent tech test last month, below you’ll find 6 minutes of gameplay for ARC Raiders, showing off the first real look at the game’s new direction.
Visually, ARC Raiders looks fantastic. Not much of a surprise, considering Embark Studios’ other title, The Finals, which also featured some impressive graphics and some insane destruction. ARC Raider looks to be following in The Finals steps, at least in the visual department, and the gameplay itself looks like it could be pretty fun. There are a lot of cool little moments scattered in the gameplay reveal, and it does seem that there are some brief teases of things throughout that we’ll likely get a bigger reveal for, like that giant robot foot that could be seen for a few frames.
All in all, ARC Raiders looks to be shaping up to potentially be something special, and though the shift in direction may have some division, I don’t think there’s no denying that it still looks like a rather interesting shooter to follow.
There is no word on when ARC Raiders will officially release, though Embark Studios is targeting a 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles. The title will also be a premium experience, costing $40.
