With yesterday’s official announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it seems more details about the game is slowly rising to the top, though unofficially. If you were hoping the Black Ops Cold War SBMM (skill-based matchmaking) wouldn’t be as strict as that in Modern Warfare, well, you’re out of luck.

In addition to that, Henderson mentions how Warzone will get a new map but the weapons, vehicles and progression will remain intact.
No. It will be the same as Warzone & Modern Warfare. Basically Warzone will connect all the titles in some ways is how it was explained to me. https://t.co/nwGSaCFMZU

He adds that Black Ops Cold War weapons will be added periodically through game updates and Battle Passes.
Weapons from Black Ops Cold War will be added periodically throughout future Battle Passes and updates. This means eventually Warzone will have well over 100 weapons. Verdansk will likely return at a later date too (depending on fan feedback).

Bear in mimd, nothing here is official, so take it with a grain of salt. That said, I don’t expect Treyarch to acknowledge how SBMM will work in Black Ops Cold War. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I doubt they will since it’ll open up a can of worms that it might not be able to close.
For something more official, Treyarch has revealed official artwork for Black Ops Cold War! the studio tweeted it out, but we embedded it in the post for an easier view.
Stay tuned for more Black Ops Cold War news as we’re just geting started! The full reveal is happening next week on August 26.
