Bloodborne Snake Ball Boss New Info Reveals Enemy Maneuvers, Attack and More

bloodborne snake ball boss

Bloodborne, like many other games, contained content that eventually never made it to the final retail version. One example of this would be the Snake Ball boss, an extremely large variant of the Snake Ball enemy that didn’t make the final cut.

While the boss itself was discovered quite a while ago, a recent YouTube video from Lance McDonald goes into detail about the scrapped boss, its fight mechanics, and more.

During the game’s development, the Snake Ball boss was meant to have small white snakes that protruded out from the sides. These snakes, when hit, would cause the boss to stagger, exposing the large snake heads for easy and free damage. The boss would also cause large snakes to pop out of the ground once it reached a certain HP threshold, and this made the fight a lot more chaotic toward the end of the encounter.

In a later development version of Bloodborne, the Snake Ball boss was removed from its original location, a place that now serves as the arena for the Shadows of Yharnam fight. It was still in the game itself, however, as it would spawn during the game’s Blood Moon phase. This version of the Snake Ball boss was far simpler, with no more snake ground attacks to dodge or white snakes to target. The boss would then eventually be removed entirely, evidenced by its absence in the retail version of Bloodborne.

Do you think that the Snake Ball boss should have stayed in the final version of Bloodborne? Were the fight mechanics too clunky to warrant a proper Bloodborne boss fight? Let us know!
