BOBOVR just announced a brand-new strap for the Quest 3 that brings significant improvements to VR comfort, including improved battery life and the addition of some onboard cooling to keep the sweat off your head.

A VR Strap With Air Conditioning?

Announced on X, the BOBOVR S3 Pro Super Strap is now available to purchase, with an available early bird discount, as well as a discount for those who purchased the previous M3 model.

The new S3 Pro Super has some design changes, allowing better comfort with a flattened back pad. There’s also a new battery dubbed the B100 battery system. It remains the same size as the previous B2 system but goes from 5200mah to 10000mah in capacity, nearly doubling the battery life! An upgrade kit will be available for the M-Series headsets later this quarter.

As attractive as that increase in battery life is, those planning on buying the S3 Pro Super will be in for another surprise as it will also feature some built-in air conditioning. That’s massive, especially for users who are susceptible to sweating while wearing a headset. As big an improvement as the Quest 3, it can still become hot under there. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t play VR for hours end, as it always feels like a sweat lodge after 30 minutes or so. That may be because I play a lot of Beat Saber, which is quite an exercise.

BOBOVR notes that the S3 Pro Super supports 100 wind levels and uses silent technology to decrease fan noise.

Mind you, with the added cooling system, the battery life will likely drain faster. This may be one of the reasons why BOBOVR is offering a new battery system to begin with so that it can stay on par with the previous unit when used with the cooling system.

Currently, the BOBVR S3 Pro Super is being offered a limited-time early bird special of $89.99. After that, it’ll jump to its original MSRP of $119.99.
