Devs React to 27-Minute DOOM Eternal Speedrun

Doom eternal speedrun

Barely a month in, it seems speedrunners have managed to complete DOOM Eternal in less time than it takes some people to finish a meal. If you want to see it unfold yourself, check out the 27-minute DOOM Eternal speedrun below! And as a bonus, id Software devs even give their commentary of it.

Doom Eternal is barely a month old and speedrunners have already figured out how to finish the game in under a half hour. So ride along with Marty Stratton (Executive Producer), Hugo Martin (Game Director), Jerry Keehan (Level Design Director) and Evan Eubanks (Lead Game Programmer) as they watch their latest game get absolutely destroyed by world record speedunner: Xamide.

Regardless if it can be beaten in less than 30 minutes or not, that hasn’t stopped people from snatching the game up, as DOOM Eternal has broken franchise records already. If you haven’t bought it yet, make sure to read our DOOM Eternal review and see why we gave it a 9/10.

Of note though, speedrunning a game takes skill and is something that involves lots of trial and error, and patience. Even if a game gets beaten this fast, that doesn’t mean everyone can.

Are you surprised at all by this or not at all?

What a stupid comment, you could say the same thing for just beating the game, or beating it on a hard difficulty. The worst writing comes from this site, Of note, let me tell you the obvious is basically what he did.
