The next chapter for crab fighting is nearly upon us, as Calappa Games have announced that Fight Crab 2 will be entering early access this coming December. Get ready to do battle with giant crabs.
Fight Crab 2 enters early access (via Steam) on February 13. But wait, there’s more! A playable demo has also been announced and will be part of Steam Next Fest 2024, from February 5-12. BUT. WAIT. THERE’S. MORE. The early access announcement was accompanied by a new trailer.
About The Early Access
Why Early Access?
“We plan on improving the game based on feedback from the community, so that we can provide a more polished and complete game as the final product.
Since this game heavily features PvP, balancing is very important. In order to implement good balancing and creating a fun and exciting environment for players, feedback from players before full release is crucial.
We will be in Early Access in order to get feedback and polish our game as early as possible.”
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We expect to spend around 12 to 18 months in Early Access before full release.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“All game modes will be playable in Early Access, but we plan to flesh out several parts of the game for the full release.
Career Mode:
We plan on adding more events and bosses to this mode.
Game Balance:
We plan on observing the online environment during Early Access to tweak balancing issues.
Network Features:
We plan on testing network features frequently in order to provide a stable network environment upon release.
Additional Features:
We plan on adding more co-op options, skins, and playable crabs.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“At the start of Early Access, all main game modes will be available:
– Career Mode
– Local Matches
– Online Matches
– Tutorial Mode
We plan on tackling the following as we work on the full release:
– Game balancing tweaks
– More content for Career Mode
– More playable crabs
We’ll add more and more content in updates until the game is finished.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“The game is still incomplete while in Early Access, so the price is lower than the planned full release price. This means the price will likely increase when the game is fully released.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“We will make use of the Community Hub and gather players’ opinions on Steam in Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese. Players’ opinions and suggestions will likely be referenced and used during development.”
