Fortnite Servers Down as Epic Games Experiences Login Issues This Christmas Day (Update)

If you’re one of the millions of people trying to play Fortnite or any Epic Game login-required title, you may have noticed some issues. Don’t worry; you’re not alone, as reports of Fortnite servers down have begun flooding as the Epic Game Store is experiencing heavy traffic.

Fortnite Servers Down Status and Updates for December 25:

Update #2: Appears Fornite servers are down again as of 9:00PM CT Dec. 25

Update #1: Epic has stated that the issues should be resolved now.

Most likely due to the recent announcement that Death Stranding Director’s Cut would be free on Epic Game Store as part of their free games Christmas promotion, the storefront is experiencing some heavy traffic. Users attempting to redeem the freebie are being met with page freezes and slow loading, while those yet to log into the store are having issues logging in.

These issues go beyond the storefront, too, as players trying to play some Fortnite are also reporting login and disconnect issues. Hopefully, Epic Game can resolve the problems fast, though it shouldn’t come as much of a shocker given that it is Christmas day and Epic Game offers such a free high-profile game.

We’ll be sure to monitor the issue, and should any updates be issued by Epic Games, we’ll keep you posted. For now, hold tight!
