A used item is sometimes a way for people to get the video games they need at a good price, but it doesn’t always save as much as expected.
In one case, a player tried to sell his PS4 Pro to GameStop USA and found out that not only would he not save any money, but he would actually have to pay the store.

The user, named SolmisateSol on ResetEra, explained that he wanted to sell his PS4 Pro to GameStop USA in order to make some extra dollars. However, he did not want to include the DualShock 4 controller he was still using, nor the HDMI cable, and he also didn’t have the USB cable to charge the controller.
The result of these missing items was that the price GameStop offered for the console was reduced, even to the point where it went negative. In addition, because he was not a member of the “pro” service at GameStop USA, the player would not only receive no money for the sale but would have to pay the store around 5 dollars. Basically, he would be giving away the hardware and paying for it.
He also looked into selling an Xbox One, but in that case, he would have to pay GameStop 20 dollars to take the console.
It’s probably not hard to guess that the user did not sell the consoles. He also mentioned that the employee was very kind and surprised by the situation. Still, this was the reality. Of course, old consoles don’t hold much value anymore, but asking the customer to pay is clearly a bit too much.

Yes plus the cost of PS4 controller going up since the discontinuation of new hardware you brought in an incomplete system even if they came in with a broken controller and cables it would of been profitable for them but you got to ask yourself would you buy a system that you couldn’t test out of it worked well or if you had to go out and buy $90 in parts to get it to work

When have gamestop EVER given someone a BRAND NEW controller and cables with the purchase of a used console? Never. Not once. You would be lucky to even get an authentic controller as oppose to a 3rd party knockoff to begin with. The value of a ps4 pro, even without a controller and hdmi cable (of which i personally have literal dozens of laying around that i dont even know where they came from they are so common and cheap) is definatley more then zero. Especially to someone whose just trying to replace a bad ps4 who already has everything.
Thats not even taking in account that gamestop would give you $30 for the console and turn around and put it on the shelf for $150.
