If you missed it, Pipeworks and Atari’s Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered has officially launched! The classic monster beat’em up is now available on all platforms, bringing back the chaotic, city-flattening arcade action fans have been craving, completely rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with updated visuals, online matchmaking, and a host of new features and improvements.

However, when the studio originally announced the game, it said it wouldn’t launch with a 4-player mode and would support only 2-player battles. Well, it turns out, Pipeworks has quietly included a 4-player mode!

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Launches With “Overwhelmingly Positive” Reviews on Steam

Godzilla fans are eating good this month, with the release of Godzilla Minus Zero and now Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, the former being a movie and the latter a remaster of the hit 2002 classic, Destroy All Monsters Melee. While there were many concerns about the re-release (which, let’s be honest, is more a remake than a remaster), fans seem extremely happy with Pipeworks’ work on the title, as the game has earned “overwhelmingly positive” reviews on Steam.

This bodes well for Godzilla fans, and as long as the title breaks even in sales, it could lead to more remasters in the series; at least one would hope so.

While this remaster couldn’t launch with all the features and content of the original game, fans have discovered one mode that was thought to have been omitted. We’re talking about a 4-player mode, accessible via a private lobby. It may not be an online mode you can matchmake in like the two-player versus mode, but hey, it’s better than nothing.

For those who have picked up the title, how are you liking it so far? We’re loving it, and we should have our full review up shortly, so stay tuned! Otherwise, get out there and start kicking some monster ass! Oh, and if you haven’t already, be sure to check out Godzilla Minus Zero, which is now playing in theatres.
