Gunzilla Games Adds Hollywood Director Neill Blomkamp for Unannounced Shooter Project

Neill Blomkamp

Looks like one of the newest video game companies has scored big by partnering with a big-time movie director, as Gunzilla Games adds Hollywood director Neill Blomkamp for an unannounced shooter project — one that will be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC!

As reported by IGN, the director of District 9 and Chappie has joined the team as Chief Visionary Officer, and has spoken about how he is excited to work on this project — which is in development at Frankfurt, Los Angeles and Kyiv studios.

Gunzilla has a strong vision that clearly stands out. With a team of incredible talents and long-time industry veterans, it is creating a new, exciting multiplayer AAA shooter game that pushes the boundaries of gameplay, player freedom, customization options as well as narrative experience within the shooter genre.

My own big screen film experience will hopefully help shape new ways of interactive storytelling and next-generation visuals. And by making best use of everything today’s video game development technologies have on offer we will jointly create an immersive experience like we’ve never seen before.

Blomkamp’s involvement in the project is being compared to that of George R.R. Martin’s in Elden Ring, and that certainly makes things exciting for gamers and fans of his work. We’ll just have to wait and see how this project comes along with future updates!
