Halo Infinite Matchmaking Updates Dropping This August; Will Introduce Ranked Doubles and CSR Changes

Halo Infinite Matchmaking Updates

343 Industries has just revealed the latest Halo Infinite matchmaking updates that are set to release this month. The new updates will include the release of both ranked and social Doubles playlists, as well as changes to the game’s MMR and CSR systems.

The Halo Infinite matchmaking updates for the month of August will update how the game determines skill (MMR). This will improve the accuracy of where players are ranked and the accuracy of CSR ranks. CSR ranks of all players will also be reset to help accommodate the new changes.

The update will also finally bring the long-awaited Ranked Doubles and Team Doubles playlist that will introduce 2v2 slayer to the game. Last Spartan Standing will also be a rotating playlist from now on, meaning that it will not always be available for players.

Here’s a quick summary of the timeline for the matchmaking updates:

  • Friday, Aug 19 – Ranked experiment begins (should have minimal player-facing impact)
  • Monday, Aug 22 @ 11am – Fireteam CSR Limit applies to Open Crossplay
  • Tuesday, Aug 23 @ 10am PT – CSR rank reset occurs and Ranked maintenance begins, taking Ranked Arena offline for ~3hrs
  • Tuesday, Aug 23 @ 10am PT – Team Doubles (social) goes live
  • Tuesday, Aug 23 @ 11am PT – Last Spartan Standing comes down
  • Tuesday, Aug 23 @ 1pm PT – Ranked Arena, Ranked Doubles, Team Doubles come online

The new Halo Infinite matchmaking updates are set to go live on August 23. The game is now available for free download on Xbox consoles and PC.
