Legend of Mana Details and Game Information Released

Legend of Mana

Prepare to embark on another fantasy adventure in Square Enix’s Mana universe, as Legend of Mana Details and Game Information have been released — with notes on the story, land creation system, battle system, and so on that should get players familiar with what’s to come in the latest installment in the JRPG series!

Here’s the overview of the game from the official press release.

Legend of Mana is the fourth instalment in the Mana series that originally released in 1999. Now the game is set to return as an HD remastered edition, with high-resolution graphics, lovingly redrawn backgrounds, and updated UI. Legend of Mana is an action RPG where you become the protagonist and embark on adventures in the world of Fa’Diel. At the heart of the story is Mana, the underlying theme of the entire Mana series, whose mysteries are told with a picture-book art style accompanied by a whimsical soundtrack. Using the Land Creation system, you place artifacts on the map to create the world’s towns, forests, and more. People will appear, and new stories will be set in motion. What kind of tale will unfold? That depends on your Land Creation.

And here’s the details on the land creation system, story elements, battle system, and more featured in the game.

The Land Creation System
When you speak to the inhabitants of the game’s locations and complete events, you might be rewarded with “artifacts” that can be placed on the World Map. Doing so will create the towns and dungeons of Fa’Diel, known as “lands.” Each land has its own Land Level and Mana Levels. Where you place an artifact, and the lands next to it, will determine the Elemental Spirits that live there, the strength of its monsters, and even the items that are available in its shops. Place your artifacts as you see fit, and build a world that’s totally unique to you.

What Are Artifacts?

Said to have been crafted by sages in ancient times, artifacts are mystical objects that contain arcane power. However, when placed upon the World Map, an artifact will miraculously transform into a town or forest, cave or mountain, bringing with it the people who live there and all their memories, as if plucked from a place lost to both time and the physical dimensions.

The Story and Events
The game’s story progresses after you complete events. Each of the game’s 68 events is a self-contained story in its own right – some are standalone tales, while others form part of one the three main story arcs. The events that are available and the order in which they can be completed will change depending on your Land Creation.

The Battle System
Battles will begin when you approach the monsters that live in the lands of Fa’Diel. You must defeat all the monsters in an area before you can proceed to the next one. Emerge victorious from a battle and your HP will be fully restored, and if you perish, you can choose continue and give it another shot from the very same area of the map. You can go all-out in combat without having to worry about losing progress.

Abilities and Special Techniques

New Abilities are learned through performing basic actions such as jumping and guarding. Using these newfound abilities will unlock devastating Special Techniques, with different ones to discover for each type of weapon.

There are 11 different types of weapons for you to master. Each one has a different effect on your movement speed in battle and the amount that your stats increases when you level up.

Magic

The game features enchanted instruments that can be imbued with the power of one of eight Elemental Spirits and then used in battle to cast powerful magic spells. Instruments can be bought in towns, or you can gather the raw materials and make your own.
