PlayStation VR2 Designed for PC Compatibility From the Start, Says Sony
Sony has announced that the PlayStation VR2 was designed with PC compatibility in mind from the beginning. In an interview, Sony confirmed that PC compatibility was a priority during the design phase of the headset.
Sony has unveiled a PS VR2 PC adapter that will enable the headset to be used with PCs, enhancing the VR experience for users who own both a PS5 and a PC. However, it will not support advanced features like headset feedback, eye tracking, and adaptive triggers on PC.
“PS VR2 was designed with PC connection in mind from the beginning,” said a Sony representative in the interview. Initially, the focus was on optimizing the VR experience for the PlayStation 5. After the PS VR2 launched, the team worked on improving compatibility with PCs to provide a more flexible VR experience.
With the PC adapter, users can enjoy a wider range of VR content, including games on platforms like SteamVR. Titles like Half-Life: Alyx will now be available, offering many more gaming options.
This PlayStation VR2 PC adapter is set to launch on August 7, priced at $60.
