Virtuos might not be a household studio name just yet, though that might change real soon, as it seems the studio has something planned for this December’s The Game Awards.
Update: The video seems to be fake, so in short: nothing to see here, people. Apologies for the confusion. That said, the MGS3 remake chatter we’ve heard before is not fabricated unlike this video.
Over on the studio’s official YouTube channel, a mysterious video clip was shared before being pulled. Check it out below:
A new one here.
sounds like a frequency.
morse code maybe ? #thegameawards hinting at something. pic.twitter.com/jaJhkz4Kop— ZONEX (@zxSOLIDxSNAKEzx) October 28, 2022
The frequency heard throughout the video seems to be morse code, and Twitter user GGFTL managed to decode it, and it says “1964 December 8.”
This is the message, I've just decoded it by using a webapp

I noticed the number " 1964 "
the year of the Cold War. https://t.co/vaxTXYPHfn pic.twitter.com/ahVIiivvFH— ZONEX (@zxSOLIDxSNAKEzx) October 28, 2022
As Metal Gear Solid fans might remember, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was set during the Cold War. Could this date hint at a possible Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake/remaster announced at this year’s The Game Awards (which is being held this December 8). If so, it wouldn’t be a farfetched idea as we’ve already gotten a reveal of the Silent Hill 2 remake recently.
Further adding to this theory is the fact that Konami, the company that owns the Metal Gear Solid IP, is listed as a client of Virtuos as can be seen on the company’s website.
While no official announcement has been made, we here at MP1st have heard of rumblings regarding a MGS3 Snake Eater remake being in development before. While Virtuos isn’t exactly a popular gaming developer, the studio has worked on a ton of games already such as Dark Souls Remastered, the NBA 2K franchise, The Outer Wilds and loads more. Headquartered in Singapore though with offices across Asia, Europe and North America, go check out their development history right here.
Could we be getting an announcement at The Game Awards? Or is this just a whole load of nothing? Let us know what you think down in the comments below.
