Wii Sports fans will no doubt feel familiar with this next title, as Resolution Games’ “Home Sports” sees players play through a variety of sports games with motion controls, all in VR and Mixed reality.

Could Home Sports Do for VR/MR, What Wii Sports Did for Nintendo?

It’s hard to ignore Home Sports’ similarities to Wii Sports, from its simplistic visuals to even the title logo striking a bit of a resemblance. The inspiration is clear as day, though I don’t think that’s bad, as the Wii Sports IP has remained dormant ever since Nintendo moved on from the Wii decades ago.

Based on the trailer, it seems that Resolution Games is trying to capture the magic Wii Sports brought to the Wii, but for Meta Quest VR headsets. Whether they can bring that commercial success to it with this title is anyone’s guess. However, I will say that based on the trailer alone, it already looks like the kind of game that Wii Sports fans will undoubtedly love. I’m all for it myself, as it looks to be the perfect type of game to introduce new players to VR, and with Christmas right around the corner, there will be plenty of new users joining the VR craze for the first time.

Home Sports launches on the Meta Quest Store on December 11 at 9 am PST for $19.99.
