Nvidia Announces RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070 Prices

Announced at CES today, Nvidia has officially revealed the RTX 5000 series of GPUs, which include the RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, and 5070. These GPUs are all slated to be released this month and next. Unlike their competitor, who also revealed a new line of GPUs, Nvidia has also revealed the official prices of each of its Blackwell GPUs, which may be a little surprising.
Nvidia RTX 5000 Series’s Lowest Entry Promises 4090 Performance at a Fraction of the Cost
After countless rumors and speculations, we finally have an official price tag to put on Nvidia’s newest line of GPUs, all of which are set to arrive sometime this month. We expected this series of cards wouldn’t be cheap, though Nvidia surprised us with a lower number than anticipated. Mind you, if you want the best they offer, the RTX 5090, you’re looking at a whopping 2000 dollars, $400 more than the RTX 4090. As for the rest of the cards, a full breakdown of the pricing can be found below.
RTX 5000 Series Pricing
- RTX 5090: $1,999 – Releasing January 30
- RTX 5080: $999 – Releasing January 30
- RTX 5070 Ti: $749 – Releasing February, 2025
- RTX 5070: $549 – Releasing February, 2025
What’s most impressive, though, is that while each series offers twice the performance of their previous generation counterpart, the RTX 5070, which only costs $549, is claimed to have a similar performance to that of the RTX 4090, a $1600 card. That’s coming from Nvidia themselves, though we aren’t so sure about those claims, considering that the card comes with half the memory of the RTX 4090. In terms of raw power, that might not be all that true, but Nvidia was heavily promoting AI and the DLSS4, and the next generation of DLSS, the RTX 5000 series of cards, will see massive benefits. Chances are high that DLSS4 will do most of the heavy lifting to catch up to the 4090s performance in the lower-end 5000 series card, but even still, if the image quality from DLSS doesn’t bother you too much, the RTX 5070 might just be a good starting point for anyone looking to see what Nvidia has to offer in the latest and greatest.
The RTX 5090 and 5080 will be available from Nvidia and other participating retailers starting January 30, with the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti launching next month.
