The Callisto Protocol launched with mixed reviews on Xbox and PC due to performance issues cropping up on both platforms. On the other hand, PS5 versions of the game seemed to be running just fine, and this caused frustration among non-PS5 users.
To add to this, it was also revealed in the game’s credits that Sony staff were mentioned to work on the game. This led fans to believe that Striking Distance Studios somehow sabotaged the Xbox and PC versions while leaving the PS5 version in a playable state.
Attempting to quell the rumors, director Glen Schofield released a statement on Twitter, claiming that Sony’s involvement in the game was limited to performance capture for the game’s cinematics.
You can’t chase every rumor online, but I have to clear this one up: There are Sony people in the credits because we worked with them on the performance capture for our cinematics. They didn’t do any additional work on the game. Hope that clears up any confusion.

Striking Distance Studios is aware of the game’s performance issues on PC and Xbox, and they’ve been working to address the issues since launch and has even released a patch that enabled ray-tracing reflections on Xbox Series X.
