Splitgate Nets Over 600,000 Downloads in First 6 Days of Beta, Hits Over 50K Concurent Players

Splitgate Update 1.05

It looks like another shooter is hitting the right nerves for multiplayer fans, as 1047 Games’  portal shooter Splitgate has already netted over 600,000 downloads in just six days since the open beta started!

The announcement was made via a press release the studio’s CEO Ian Proulx thanked fans.

I want to sincerely thank every single player who has taken a chance on our game. From its small beginnings as a student project when we were in college to today, where we’re on the verge of launching across two generations of consoles, this is a dream come true for me and the result of incredibly hard work by everyone at our studio.

I especially want to thank our loyal PC players who have stuck with us since our game first rolled out on Steam. We cannot wait to continue to iterate on Splitgate and grow the game alongside our growing fans.

In the same press release, studio CTO and Co-Founder Nicholas Bagamian urges fans to be patient as the small team scales its servers.

So far our community has been gracious and understanding of our downtime as we work to release various bottlenecks that have occurred as more people jump in to play. We are a small, growing team and are working around the clock to make sure that our transition to launch is as smooth as possible so that as many people who want to play can jump in without issues.

Over on Twitter, the studio has also announced that the game has hit over 50,000 concurrent players! This is a huge difference compared to day one of the beta, which only saw 4,000 players try the free-to-play shooter.

Splitgate launches this July 27  on PlayStation, Xboxm and PC, and includes three brand new areans, a new game mode called “Showdown,” dozens of new skins, new loadouts and more.
