Take-Two Interactive Files Trademark for “Small Axe”
[summaraize]
While Take-Two Interactive has its premier studio Rockstar Games toil away at Grand Theft Auto 6, the company seems to be cooking up another mysterious title.
There’s not a lot go on, but we do know its codename at the very least, which is “Small Axe.”
Take-Two Interactive Files “Small Axe”
The filing was made in Europe, and it mentions how it’s for “Goods and services” related to “Recorded computer game and video game programs and software; downloadable computer and video game programs and software; downloadable digital materials, namely, ring tones, wallpapers, screensavers, digital music files, and graphics, videos, films, multimedia files, live action programs, motion pictures, and animation in the field of video games and computer games, all delivered via global computer networks and wireless devices; pre-recorded digital media devices featuring computer games and video games, ring tones, wallpapers, screensavers, digital music files, and graphics, videos, films, multimedia files, live action programs, motion pictures, and animation in the field of video games and computer games; pre-recorded usb flash drives featuring computer games and video games; cases for mobile phones and tablet computers; mouse pads; pre-recorded electronic media devices featuring music, namely, compact discs, and phonograph records featuring computer games and video games; downloadable computer application software for mobile phones, portable media players, tablet computers, and handheld computers, namely, downloadable computer and video game software.”
Given there’s literally zero info surrounding it, Small Axe can be anything from a sports game to a new open-world title. For reference, the last time a Take-Two Interactive trademark leaked was for “Project Ethos,” which is a free-to-play roguelike hero shooter that was announced last year for consoles and PC.
In entertainment, Small Axe references a British anthology of films created and directed by Steve McQueen that was released in 2020. While we can’t be certain, we have a hunch it’s not connected to that at all.
Hopefully, we’ll know more about Small Axe soon, but given how secretive Take-Two is, we’re not counting on anything to get leaked.
In other Take-Two news, the publisher released the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, which showcases some amazing visuals that’s been confirmed to run on a base PS5. Expect GTA 6 to be released in May 26, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S unless there’s another delay.
