The Binding of Isaac Online Co-Op Confirmed by Devs Ten Years Later

Twelve years, a remake, and several DLCs later, The Binding of Isaac is finally getting an online co-op feature. More specifically, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, the 2014 remake of the 2011 original. Fans have long been waiting to play Isaac online with their friends, and their patience has finally paid off.

This was confirmed earlier today in a tweet from Tyrone Rodriguez, the game’s Executive Producer:

Short, sweet, and to the point, the tweet shows an image of an online lobby feature for The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth and reads “Let’s play Isaac online together soon!” This tweet was shortly followed up with a quote tweet from the game’s creator, Edmund McMillen:

The Binding of Isaac has a very dedicated playerbase, and it’s widely regarded to be one of the best roguelikes of all time. The game’s received consistent updates ever since release which has helped to maintain its longevity. A quick look at the game’s SteamDB page reveals that the game still maintains nearly 20,000 players a day. This is an impressive number of players for a game that’s nearly 10 years old.

There’s still no word on when the online co-op feature will arrive in Isaac, but we’ll be sure to let readers know the second we know more.
