If you’ve played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt before and you want to experience the game right now with the next-gen upgrade that rolled out today, chances are, you’ll want to play the game using your old save file. Unfortunately, it’s not as easy as loading your PS4 file from the cloud and using it on the PS5. Well, we’re here to help with this The Witcher 3 guide on how to transfer your PS4 save file to PS5.
The Witcher 3 – How to Transfer PS4 to PS5 Save Files Guide:
Log in to your GOG.com (previously Good Old Games) account using your PSN account.
- Load up the PS4 version (make sure it’s updated to 4.0) and go to Save Game/Load Game/My Rewards in the main menu, if you’re in the Save Game/Load Game section press L2 to open the GoG account link.
- Once you’ve linked your accounts. You should re-save the game so that it will be the 4.0 version of the save. Doing this, you should see a cloud with a tick icon on the save file.
- Now load up the PS5 version of the game, go to My Rewards and link to the GoG account similar to the PS4 version. Doing this will get the Load Game option to show up if you’re done the above correctly.

Note that people are saying that there have been issues with the PS4 version not updating to patch 4.00 due to disc issues. Also, it seems the disc version and PSN account needs to be on the same region or else it might cause problems as well.
