A couple of Warhammer 40K games were revealed during the Warhammer Skulls showcase, with one of them being an entirely new title that will pit players against each other in a hybrid of combat and racing. Titled “Warhammer 40K: Speed Freeks,” this new Warhammer entry is currently running an Alpha playtest for fans to get a taste of the new game before its official release.

You can watch the announcement trailer below:

And here’s a list of the game’s features:

  • 16-player matches featuring a variety of badass vehicles to choose from and richly decorated maps to battle in. No two matches ever end in the same way.
  • Various classes of vehicles, with seven unique vehicles to choose from, meaning players will always find one that fits their mood and playstyle.
  • In Chase Mode, teams have to push their rigs to the absolute limit to capture points and fight to control them in succession.
  • Convoy Mode (not playable during the Alpha phase) is all about protecting your team’s formidable Convoy while attacking the enemy’s, and battling in-between as they race to finish first.
  • Snazzy visuals and explosive chaos powered by Unreal Engine 5 will give players the chance to take a different glimpse into the world of Warhammer 40,000.

You can sign up for the Alpha playtest via Steam if you’re interested, where you can also wishlist the game in advance.

Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader was also featured during the Skulls event. A new trailer showcasing all the RPG’s features has been released, which you can find below:

A beta test for Rogue Trader is scheduled for June 1, and those who preorder the game before its release are eligible to join. You can preorder the game here.

No release dates for either Speed Freeks or Rogue Trader have been announced just yet.
