Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Character Creation Guide – Body Types, Facial Features, and More

wo long fallen dynasty character creation guide

This Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty character creation guide will go over all the options you can expect to make use of when making your character. Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty shares a lot of similarities with traditional Soulsborne games, and this includes a highly customizable character creation menu. You’re able to create all sorts of unique characters for your playthrough, and if you’d rather get right into the action, the presets are also equally great.

Note that because the character creation menu is so detailed and complex, we’ll only elaborate on some of the more major features and sliders, but this should give you a good idea of what you’re able to do in character creation.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Character Creation Guide

Base

The Base settings let you change your character’s overall appearance as well as give you preset options if you’re the type of player who prefers to skip character creation. The figure type dictates your character’s body type, with options for male-looking and female-looking body types to choose from. You can choose personal pronouns too, which do not affect your body type or voice. The available appearance template options also change depending on what body type you’ve selected.

Aside from body type, you can also choose your skin color and skin type. Skin color is self-explanatory, whereas skin type refers to your skin’s overall complexion. You have a lot of freedom in choosing your skin color, so feel free to fiddle around with the values until you land on something that you like.

Face

The face is a human’s most unique and defining physical characteristic, and you can make all sorts of characters with the options available to you in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The Aging option, for example, lets you decide how old your character looks. You can also make various changes to various parts of your character’s face, including their eyes, nose, and mouth, among other places.

As there are tons of options to work with, it can be a bit overwhelming to a player who comes across a character creation menu this complex for the first time. For those who can’t seem to land on a configuration that they like, we recommend going back to the Base section of the character creation screen and choosing a template to find a face that suits your fancy. You can then tweak the other settings as you see fit.

Hair

Giving your character a unique hair color may not be for everyone, especially if you’d rather make a more grounded-looking one, but for those who want to go all out with customization, you have lots of hair color options. You can choose from various hairstyles as well as multiple hair colors, and the hair tip options add even more complexity to the look. There are also a few presets that you can either use directly or as inspiration for your own hairstyle configuration.

Facial Hair

While the facial hair options don’t seem all that detailed at a glance, you have a few settings that you’re able to work with. You can change both your mustache and your beard hair, and you’re also able to choose a color for facial hair that’s separate from the rest of your hair. If you’d rather just pick something that looks good enough right away, there are some presets that you can make use of, too.

Makeup

The Makeup section lets you add complexity to your face in the form of shadows, tones, and more. While some may skip this section entirely, it can really make a difference, especially during cutscenes. You can have elaborate makeup that stands out or more subtle makeup to give your face more structure and form. There are also face paint options for those who want a more exotic or aggressive look.

Body

The Body section lets you customize just your character’s height, muscle density, and more. You can change your head size, adjust shoulder width, and use different body accessories. Of course, not all of the options you choose here will stand out while wearing the various armor you’ll find throughout the game, but if you end up going for something light and revealing, then you may want to put a bit of thought into how your body looks.

Voice

Finally, you can select from a decent set of voices for both body types. The voice will depend on the body type you choose, but you can change the pitch of any voice you go with using the slider option. There’s quite a bit of variety with the voice options, too, so alongside pitch modification, you should be able to find the grunts and screams that you’re looking for.

Whether you spend hours scrolling through the customization options or a few seconds skimming through the various templates, Wo Long’s character creation menu is one that can definitely produce some great-looking results.
