After its initial delay from December 2024, IO Interactive has finally announced the long-awaited release date for Hitman World of Assassination on PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2)! You won’t have long to wait for some virtual reality Hitman shenanigans, as the VR mode launches in a few short weeks.

Although the title has already gotten a VR release on PC, this new version specifically built for the PSVR 2 comes packed with improvements. The biggest is undoubtedly the visuals, but additional new VR mechanics, such as dual wielding, detailed motion-sensitive actions, room-scale implementation, and much more, have been added in the PSVR2 release, making for perhaps the definitive way to play in VR. Whether or not we see these improvements make their way over to the Quest and PC version is not known.
PSVR2 owners will be able to enjoy Hitman World of Assassination starting March 27. If you own Hitman World of Assassination already, you’ll be able to upgrade to VR access for $9.99. Players new to the series will be able to get access to the VR version in a new HITMAN WOA Part One – VR2 Edition, which will cost $39.99. Regardless of how you gain access, the original 22 unique locations from the original campaign will all be playable in VR.
Hitman World of Assassination PSVR 2 launches on March 27 for the PS5 on PSVR2.
