Death Stranding 2 Update 1.007 Now Out But It’s Doing More Harm Than Good
Porters, you should see the Death Stranding 2: On the Beach update 1.007 (complete version 1.007.000) available for download now. However, if you can avoid it, perhaps it’s better to wait before installing it.
Based on user feedback, the patch itself doesn’t offer anything substantial, but it does seem to have dragged in technical issues to PS5 gamers after applying it.
Death Stranding 2’s New Update Version 1.007.000 Available for Download on July 10
While Kojima Productions and its partner studios haven’t said anything about what the patch actually fixes or improves, the update does usher in new technical issues.
People who own the game have mentioned that it is now stuttering, which is noticeable in the sounds and music after applying the update. This claim was further supported by additional gamers, who reported that the sound cuts out for a second every 2-3 minutes.
Regarding bug fixes, one issue that might be resolved is the floating carriers on horizontal ladders bug that was dragged in by a previous patch.
Some of the issues that are confirmed to still be present after today’s patch include:
- PCC items are still missing player IDs
- PS5 overheating on map (for some)
- Users have reported that the fan on the base PS5 is louder after installing the patch.
- Sound issue wherein it gets super loud during combat (quick fix is to pause/unpause to normalize audio levels)
There’s no word whether Sony will release an official changelog for the update or acknowledge the issues it dragged in, but we have reached out to PlayStation, and we’ll update the article if we hear anything back.
If you notice any changes or improvements from this update, leave a comment and let us know. Hopefully, no other issues arise from this download once it is applied.

Dafuq is Kojima doing?? Every flippin patch just breaks more shit and fixes nothing!
I have never seen a Kojima game this broken. MGSV was incomplete but it was stable and didn’t crash consoles. This is 100% Sony having pushed for an earlier release than Kojima Productions planned for.
I’ve has literally zero problems in 40+ hours so far. Although ive just arrived home from work to find this new patch installed so hopefully that doesn’t change things.
