Dying Light 2 Update 1.59

Techland has issued a minor patch for Dying Light 2 today, which is now available for download on all platforms as Hotfix 1.19.3. This is a small download, and doesn’t include any holiday-themed goodies (as far as we’re aware). Those on consoles, you should see this prompt as Dying Light 2 update 1.59 on PS4/XB1, and version 1.059 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Note that even if Techland didn’t mention any holiday event included in the patch, there is a chance the data for it is included with the download, which can then be triggered via server-side at a later date. This is something studios do regularly, which is why you sometimes see events, new items be available in games without the need for a client-side download.

Dying Light 2 Update 1.59 Fixes Dialogue Lines From Being Cut Off

Techland Registers Trademark for "Dying Light: The Beast"

If you’re one of the many seeing issues with in-game dialogue being cut off, that should be fixed with today’s minor update. According to Techland, the patch today “addresses the issues with dialogue lines being cut off.”

So far, this is the sole fix included in the patch. There was a patch released three weeks ago that slotted in Tower Raid fixes, and also included miscellaneous  stuff such as:

  • Fixed the missing lipsync for all NPCs for the French language option
  • Fixed the issue with saves created on Patch 19 and older versions not being able to load on a current version of the game.
  • Fixed the issue with the incorrectly displayed Fire Mode widget for all firearms

We’re expecting a bigger patch to be released before the year is done, unless, of course, this patch houses the holiday data that should be coming to Dying Light 2 players soon.
