Genshin Impact Update 5.8 Takes the Adventure to a Summer Resort

Genshin Impact update 5.8 is now available to install on all platforms, though players will have to wait just a tad bit longer before they can jump back in, as the servers are also down for planned maintenance.

HoYoverse Continues Its Summer Celebration With Genshin Impact

We’re in for quite a hot Summer, but thankfully, miHoYo is trying to keep things cool with all the Summer events they’re hosting for their games. Zenless Zone Zero just got it’s Summer celebration update a few weeks ago, and now it’s Genshin Impact’s turn as version 5.8 is introducing a Summer Resort, new character, outfits, and plenty of events!

Adjustments & Optimizations

  • The dishes Meat-Lover’s Feast, Nine-Fruit Nectar and Bubblemilk Pie are no longer obtainable via mail.[1]
  • Added ability to jump to required time from quest navigation.
  • Added ability to change audio volume settings during quest dialogues.
  • Added characters with talents that detect Local Specialties to tracking interface.
  • Added ability to mark another oculus location with Oculus Resonance Stones.
  • Added special marker icon for Artifacts with recommended affixes in Character > Artifact menu. Can be disabled from system settings.
  • Added combat talent demos to Test Run interface and Character > Talents page.

Whew, looks like Genshin Impact players are going to have quite the busy Summer with this update! As a reminder, servers are currently down at the time of writing, but the patch can be downloaded and installed. Servers are expected to go back up around 10 PM Central time.
