RuneScape: Dragonwilds Update 1.000.008 on October 8 Fixes World Saves Issue, But Still Doesn’t Restore Them
Last week, Jagex released an update for RuneScape: Dragonwilds that aimed to fix the save issues the game is suffering from — at least partially.
Today,. the developers released RuneScape: Dragon update 1.000.008 | 1.0.0.8 on consoles and PC, and this (finally?) resolves the World save issue on all platforms, though it doesn’t restore the content, as that’s aimed for the patch next week.
Read on for the info from the developers.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds World Save Major Issue Resolved
The 1.0.0.8 update is now live on XBOX, PS5, EGS, Steam, Jagex Launcher and Nintendo Switch 2.
Note: Dedicated Servers will need to be restarted to apply the hotfix.
1.0.0.8
- Fix for an issue which would cause World Saves to disappear under certain conditions.
- Worlds that have previously disappeared will still not be visible – until 1.0.1.
A new patch is set to be released next week, which will bring the game to version 1.0.1, and here’s what to expect:
- A range of content updates and fixes, as well as:
- World saves that have disappeared should hopefully be restored.
- Characters that have been corrupted are once again able to join worlds, and have been given items and skill levels in compensation for the loss of progress.
Jagex also acknowledged that for those using a dedicated server, they are aware of an ongoing issue where the SteamCMD updates pulling the patch into dedicated servers are being rate limited. They are working on this and will issue a permanent fix.
As part of the issue, Jagex issued an apology and said, “We understand the great pride we all take in our worlds, our builds and progress within Dragonwilds, and the team is working towards solutions that would minimise any risk. Thank you for your patience as the team works towards a resolution.”
Once the patch next week is live, we’ll let our readers know.
