Rust Update 1.91

No official blog post has been shared, other than the latest development update touching on a few known issues that are being fixed:

Kick fixThe game no longer kicks players when creating kits containing certain symbols such as “/”, “\”, “<”, “>”. Instead of kicking the player, the kit name creation will now skip these symbols when being inputted. For example, L/9 will be displayed as L9 instead as “/” has been skipped.

Exploit fix – Players can no longer equip clothing or armor in the backpack slot when your Gear slot is filled up with attire.

Crash fix – The game no longer crashes when using Drone Marketplace or when buying directly from a Player-owned Vending Machine.

Updated Search server behaviour – Players are now required to input at least 3 characters for the search servers function in the Filter Option to work.

Added a ‘Fully Charged’ indicator for all batteries so you don’t have to guess whether the battery is fully charged.

Scientists behave more naturally – Scientists no longer bob up and down when they move in and out of cover or to shoot players.

Building improvements – Adjusting foundation height and quick turning/dropping are now separate actions.

Builders Paradise fix – Sleeping players’ bodies are now culled when logging off on Builders’ Paradise servers.

Roof placement distance update – when placing roof facing towards the player, the roof placement will now have a valid distance of ~6m to match Steam.

Removed Aim Assist from the Options menu – Aim assist was never active in the game, we have now removed it from the options menu to avoid confusion.

Vending Machines now properly display item lists after renaming them.

Improvements to Map UIThe Focus button prompt at the bottom of the screen is replaced with the Marker Deletion prompt when hovering over a map marker.

Item splitting made easier – Players are now able to choose quantity whilst splitting items when the circle button is assigned as the ‘enter’ button.

Improved Impact SFX – Impact SFX is now audible to other players when hitting certain objects while in Underwater Labs or Moonpools at Oil Rigs.

Fixed an issue with flashbang damage, where players would no longer receive damage when a flashbang detonates close to them when they are behind a structure.

Fixed an issue with backpack inventory navigation, where if the player has the backpack slot expanded, and is navigating over a slot in the backpack on dying, they will now be able to re-navigate their inventory on respawning.

Fixed an issue with Pink Camo Metal Chestplate showing up as a white square in Locker preview.

If the studio shares another set of changes, we’ll have it up on the site soon.
