Tekken 7 Update 5.01 Out for Balance Changes This October 4 (Update)

Bandai Namco has released Tekken 7 update 5.01 today on all platforms. The purpose of today’s patch is to balance out the characters and gameplay that were unbalanced from the 5.00 patch a few weeks ago. Check out the Tekken 7 October 4 patch notes below.

Update: Bandai Namco has released the official patch notes!

Notice for the release of the update data Ver.5.01 for PS4®/Xbox One/STEAM®

(Updated on October 4, 2022)

The update data Ver.5.01 that modifies the following features is now available.

  • Revisions on the performance of some characters’ moves. PS4®/Xbox One /STEAM

※ NOTE: Recorded battles from previous versions cannot be replayed after this update due to the adjustments on the performance of the characters’ moves.

  • Disciplinary actions against misconduct PS4®/Xbox One /STEAM

We have issued warnings to and suspended accounts that repeatedly engage in gross misconduct (cheating) or acts that violate the terms of use in the online mode.

Bandai Namco has not released the patch notes yet, though we expect that to change soon. The official Japanese Tekken Twitter did confirm that this patch will bring balance changes. You can read the Google translated message posted down below. 

Update Notice: Update data Ver.5.01 with the following contents will be distributed for PS4/Xbox One/STEAM on 10/4 (Tue.).

  • Balance adjustments and bug fixes for some characters

Replays saved in previous versions cannot be played after data is applied. Thank you for your understanding.

While we’re waiting for the patch notes, the community has shared some of the changes they’ve noticed:

  • Kenpo b2 no longer gives you shoulder
  • Feng db1+2 into shoulder at wall is gone
  • ff3 into shoulder seems to be gone as well
  • law got a faster version of his rd from dss, hell yeah
  • King running 3 +3
  • Armor King rage drive opponent closer on hit
  • Akuma running 3 increased whiff recovery by 3
