The Finals Hotfix 9.1.1

After the big 9.1.0 patch that should cap 2025 for The Finals, Embark managed to sneak in one more update before the year is over, and it’s for hotfix 9.1.1.

Given it’s a hotfix, don’t expect any content, as this patch was released to address issues. Console gamers will see this as The Finals update 1.000.121, and it should be a relatively small download.

Read on for everything that got changed today.

The Finals New Update on December 22 Reverts Barricade Functionality

Here’s what got changed/fixed today:

  • Reverted the Barricade back to its pre-update 9.0 functionality, as the current state was not intended for release and is causing too many performance issues to stay in at the moment. We are actively working on a solution for Barricade that will come at a later date

Developer’s Note:

We’re reverting the Barricade back to its pre-Update 9.0 functionality. The current state, which wasn’t intended to be introduced, is causing too many performance issues to stay in while we work on a solution. We are actively working on a better solution that will allow for easier placement (without making Barricade airplanes or throwing entire buildings across the Arena).

  • Fixed the issue of distorted characters when looking at new bundles

Developer’s Note:

We’ve also fixed an issue that would display your Contestant distorted and without clothing while looking at new bundles. That was scary.

  • Updated the Jolly Nama holiday bundle to have the correct 2025 Nama Tama

Developer’s Note:

Finally, we’ve replaced the Holly Jolly Nama Tama with the 2025 variant! The 2024 version was in the store unintentionally.

Also of note, Embark mentions, “The ‘Deal 1000 damage to opponents with grenades’ Contract has been removed, as it was not working.”

And finally, they have replaced the Kyoto from Power Shift while the devs continue to work on fixing a snag in the track, and it was supposed to be removed in the 9.0 Update.

While we’re not expecting any updates to be released until 2026 since the devs should be on a break, if this patch breaks something, expect Embark to be on the case.

Another game that shouldn’t be getting an update until next year is ARC Raiders, which received its 1.7.2 hotfix last week.
