The Sims 4 Update 2.16

Developer Maxis has pushed out a new The Sims 4 update on July 16, and this specifically targets pregnancy issues in the game. Console players will see this as The Sims 4 update 2.16, and it’s a smaller patch than what we’re used to.

For the fill details and explanation on the issue, head on for the official patch notes.

The Sims 4 Sim Pregnancy Issues Now Fixed via Patch 2.16

The Sims 4 Update 1.94

Here’s what Maxis had to say about today’s patch:

Today’s update will fix the recent issues seen with Sim Pregnancy introduced on July 1, 2025 in version 1.116.202.1030 for PC, 1.116.223.1230 for Mac, and 2.14 on Consoles.

The issues were related to performance optimizations and have now been reverted to resolve the issues reported. Any Sim pregnancy related mods should return to their pre-update functionality, though you should still check with the specific mod author for updates.

Bug Fixes

Base Game

  • [EA Forums] Pregnancy will work as it did prior to the Base Game Patch on 7/‌1/‌2025

The thread itself is funny to read given the bugs users have encountered.

There was also a patch released last week, which Maxis implemented the following fixes:

Bug Fixes

Base Game / Multipack

  • [EA Forums] The ability to drag spoiled items from Object and Sim inventories to the trash or sink has been restored.
  • [EA Forums] The Sharing is Caring Whiteboard can be placed once again!
  • [EA Forums] Gnomes have stopped constantly wiggling, jumping, or shaking after being placed from Build Mode.
  • Plants will keep their names and information when placing a Lot with gardened Plants from the Gallery.
  • [EA Forums] Household members that have custom painting and are placed via Manage Households no longer lose their texture when you switch to that household. This includes Cats, Dogs, Horses, Werewolves, Fairies, and regular Sims.

Seasons

  • Seed packets from Gnomes can now go into your Sim’s inventory with the “Put in Inventory” interaction.

Console

  • We have addressed stability issues introduced in a prior update on consoles. We will continue to monitor closely.

Once another patch is out, expect it here on MP1st.
