[UPDATED] Modern Warfare 3 Double XP This Weekend on Xbox 360

Update: Robert Bowling has revealed that all platforms will be getting Double XP this weekend. He stated, “turning on Double XP for everyone on Modern Warfare 3 this weekend! All platforms and playlists included.”

Original Story: With the first content collection released earlier this morning to all Xbox 360 owners to purchase, Modern Warfare 3 players will be treated to a double XP this weekend.

When you log into the multiplayer portion of Modern Warfare 3, you’ll be treated to the following message. “DLC Collection 1 is available for purchase now. New MP maps and SO Missions await you. Plus, earn Double XP this weekend.”

This Double XP event seems to be only for Xbox 360 users as it coincides with the new content pack released for the platform. Usually, Double XP weekends for Call of Duty titles start around the afternoon on Friday, in this case March 23rd, and end around the same time on Monday.

If more information is released regarding the time frame of the event and whether it applies to the PS3 and PC versions, we will update this article accordingly.

normally on content releases whether its xbox or ps3 getting the maps, normally all platforms get double xp. hopefully its the same

  With Black Ops it was the console that didn’t get the DLC, so when Xbox lovers got their DLC first the PS3 players were kept sweet by having a double XP weekend and Nuketown 24/7. When PS3 got the DLC, Xbox had their go on double XP.

    You have it backwards. Both did. But ps3 got nuketown 24/7 when the first dlc dropped on 360, and a month later 360 got nuketown 24/7 while ps3 enjoyed the dlc drop.

my bf if saying the same thing that the double xp is not working he played for 12 hrs yest and im sure going to be playing again all day today and tomorrow cause he wants to prestige faster. But the xp points r only coming in normal not double. At least to his eyes….I watch but I can only take so much of it wish he would just go over to the other tv…….and the other tv is BIGGER!!!!! go figure

I wasn’t recieving double xp in any core matches. ( i like domination)I played for around 6 hours and then switched to the new dlc and the double xp was working on that. I think it might be that the double xp is because of the new maps? Try it and let me know. If so its really lame because mw3 never said anything and this is the only forum I have found with similar issues the the one I was having. Have a great day.
