Call of Duty: Ghosts PC Patch Reduces 6GB RAM Requirement, Adds Broadcaster Mode and eSports Rules

A 400+MB update to the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts has recently hit Steam and is now available for download.

As of this writing, official patch notes are unavailable, but members of the PC community were quick to point out a few of the changes.

Reddit user mkapex1 had this to say about a few of the update’s additions.

  • “Menu stutter is gone 6GB requirement to launch the game has been waived for 4GBs.”
  • “Some cod esports stuff in private match was added.”
  • “In game stutter still exists (tested on amd parts) the framerate still caps to 91 confirmed.”

Thanks to user SayYesToMesses, we were able to grab a few details and screens of the new eSports setting and Broadcaster Mode which were both introduced in this patch. You’ll find rules that are hard-coded for game modes like Search & Destroy as well as Blitz, though there are other equipment, weapon, or perk restrictions to play around with as well.

Broadcaster mode features a first-person, third-person, and over-the-shoulder view, as well as a few options for recording videos.

Both features were originally set to debut during the MLG Championships in Columbus Ohio, but it looks like PC users, at least, will be able to get a taste of the new functions before hand. A similar update for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Ghosts is expected in the coming days.
