Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 PlayStation 4 Beta Gets New Map, Mode, & Level Cap Increase

As of roughly 10AM Pacific Time this morning, the currently ongoing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Beta is expected to receive an update that will increase the current level cap while adding a new map and game mode.

According to Treyarch Design Lead David Vonderhaar on Twitter, the studio will likely raise the level cap to 34 while allowing access to the Stronghold map and Uplink game mode. If you look back to some of the previously captured YouTube footage from the Black Ops 3 Alpha, you’ll remember that Stronghold is the snow-covered map, as seen in the featured image above.

As you know, Uplink, a new basketball-style game mode that was introduced last year in Sledgehammer Games’ Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, will also be returning in Black Ops 3’s multiplayer this year.

With the new level cap of 34, players will also be able to new items, including weapons, Perks, Scorestreaks, and at least two new Specialists. We know some of you still have some work to do, however. Vonderhaar also mentioned that, so far, only 10% of Beta participants have hit the current level cap of 28.
