Here’s Your First Look at the Next Major Xbox One Firmware Update

Xbox fans, prepare for a bunch of new features set to come your way soon. Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb shows off the next major Xbox One firmware update set to hit later this year.

Major Nelson is joined by Xbox Platform Engineer Mike Ybarra, and they give us a virtual tour of the new Xbox One menus. There are “content blocks,” and new customization options for those who obsess over these kinds of stuff.

Ybarra even shows and explains how to add, edit these content blocks. Possibly one of the best new tweaks is the new guide which will (hopefully) let gamers go to their preferred destination on the dashboard much, much faster.

There’s currently no release date yet for this Xbox One update, but once we hear of one, we’ll let you know.

  • I’ve been using it for a couple days now, and I have to say there are parts I like, and parts I really don’t. Qwik said on stream the other day that stuff like the home tab isn’t final (thankfully) so it’s still all WIP. the new guide, content blocks and the community area are the best things, they’re all still a bit rough but I like where they’re headed.
